Started arm wrestling:
|
She first started armwrestilng in April 2004. One of SA's
best armwrestlers, Armand du Toit, nagged her for two years to
join them! She hung up my "squatsuit' (power lifting) in
1994. There was just no more competition for her in her age
and weight class. In armwrestling she was allowed to
participate in the senior ladies class (as she was a master), which
made her armwrestling career endless. |

What changes would you like to see in this sport? |
Armwrestling is still a very male dominant sport in South
Africa. I would like to see more ladies competing and
definitely more sub-juniors (boys & girls) and junior girls. |

Miscellaneous:
|
She had several powerlifting records in the dead lift and bench
press for the period 1987 - 1994. Her first gold medal in a
SA Championship was in September 1987. She was the first
woman in SA attempting to pull a plane in the year 2000,
weighing 75000kg's. It moved! Oh yeah, it moved!
Gold in the World Bench Press Championships in 2001.
She was the
big chief in charge of the Warrior Power Team. They were 10
members (6 girls & 4 guys) between the ages of 11 and 57 in
2008.
They did strongman stunts such as truck pull, hand-over-hand pull,
tyre flip and obviously armwrestling at churches, shopping
malls, school, etc. |
